Yuran is a first-year Computer Science PhD student in the University of Maryland and Max-Planck Institute (joint program), advised by Dr. Jun Nishida and Dr. Paul Strohmeier
She holds a Bachelor of Science with honors in from Carnegie Mellon University, with a focus on perception and interaction design. She is honored to have been advised by Dr. Roberta Klatzky, Dr. Chris Harrison and Dr. Lining Yao during her time at Carnegie Mellon University.
Her research interests include haptics, wearables, and human augmentation. Her high-level research goal is to understand opportunities in human perceptions and leverage that knowledge to design and create expressive interactive physical interfaces that facilitate meaningful interaction and integration with humans.
When she is free, she does art, expands her collection of weird (and cool) projects, and plays with lego.
